An Ethernet (wierd name eh?) Crossover RJ-45 cable. They're about £10 at a computer shop. They look like this.
Lets start!
1)Turn on your PC and internet.
2)Go to Start>Programs>Control Panel>Network Connections.
3)Right click on the pictures of the pcs at the top of the page and go to properties.
4)Go to Advanced and check the 'Allow other network users to connect through this computers Internet connection' box.
5)Then check the 'Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet' box.
6)Click ok and wait. It might cut of your internet. If it doesn't then disconnect and reconnect. If it does, reconnect.
7)Go back to Network Connections. Right click on the 2 pc's that say 'local area connection'. There might be a number afrer the words.
8)Go to properties then look for some words saying 'Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)', double click on that.
9)Make sure that the popup box that comes up is exactly the same as this:

10)Click ok.
11)Connect the cable from the back of the Xbox to a bit in the back of the pc that looks like this:

12)Turn on your Xbox with no cd in, go to Xbox Live in the menu. Go to Settings(it might be called network settings).
13)Go to IP addresses, switch to manual settings and enter this in the boxes:
P Address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
14)Press back once you've done that. Go to DNS, switch to manual settings and enter this in the boxes:
DNS Server 1: 192.168.0.1
15)Once you've done that, press back and go to connect. You should be able to connect to Xbox Live!
